The Two Caesars: Bad Theater
A critical review

A colleague asked my opinion of the Russian-American theater production in Alaska starring a convicted felon and indicted war criminal as The Two Caesars.
Here’s what I wrote, most culled from my recent reports:
In any true democracy, the moment Putin stepped one dainty foot in country he’d be arrested for war crimes.
The whole thing is a show piece to attempt to make Zelensky look bad — it’s bad theater.
The Two Caesars are staging more hokum. Trump makes a play date with Putin under the guise of ‘peace’ and ‘ceasefires’. That they are to meet in Alaska reminds me of the Polish aphorism that just “when you find yourself at the very bottom, you hear knocking from below”. Courtesy Marci Shore.
Trump is a convicted felon and Putin is an indicted war criminal — these are not peaceful men, these are plotters and thieves.
Men like Putin and Trump, in their all or nothing approach to life, seek power to avoid prosecution. And it works for a time, but inevitably, they, will be recognized by all as public enemies.
Main thing is, they will offer a “peace” plan that is unacceptable and try to make Zelensky look like the aggressor — I hope he can withstand this.
They are attempting and succeeding at blowing up the post-World War II order among democratic nations.
As my friend Steven Douglas wrote in his Disinfolklore substack:
“The purpose is to destroy the post-WWII legal and social order. Undermine UN Charter, International Law (UN Charter, International human rights law, international criminal law, Geneva conventions, law of the sea, genocide convention, 2003 treaty on state border). Political purpose is undermine Ukraine and European Union’s sovereignty, security, prosperity.”
As my RadPod cohost High Fidelity told Bette Dangerous: “For Donald Trump it is a performance review and acquiescence to his war criminal master. For Putin, it is his thumb in the eye of the world, as an indicted child thief, murdering savage, goblin gangster drags his blood soaked entourage across American soil. Nothing good will come from this farce.”
This is part of the dark carnival I have written about, the reality TV fascism, where politics merge with entertainment to create a post-truth wasteland where murderers talk of peace and prizes.
These are not peaceful men. Putin is a murderer. Trump is a murderer (see Covid). They are not interested in peace.
They are interested in avoiding the death of emperors.
I’m interested in seeing a day where the women leaders of Eastern Europe, who are the true leaders of the free world, are in the news instead of these monsters.
