As soon as I knew I’d be appearing on The Thom Hartmann Program this morning, I reached out to my core crew to refresh myself on the facts surrounding Julian Assange.
I turned to OSInt investigative researcher Brent Allpress, because he is in Australia and could type me deep background reminders over breakfast. His clear-eyed view of Assange and how Wikileaks plays into the greater assault on democracy was of course brilliant, so I asked him to join us again this Sunday at our upcoming Speakeasy zoom salon. Thankfully, he agreed. Allpress will also be discussing the stakes of the 2024 election, and how Twitter is a key battleground ‘state’ being used to influence the outcome of the US election as a superspreader of disinformation.
On Assange and Wikileaks, he noted: “Assange is an operative in psychological and cognitive warfare. I am unsympathetic… he is a key player in the network out to damage democratic governance... WikiLeaks is a platform for propaganda and laundered espionage — part of a long game of Russian linked influence operations and active measures.”
Much of Brent’s research has informed my view that what we are living through ultimately is an alliance by fossil-fuel funded oligarchs — or what my podcast partner High Fidelity dubbed ‘oiligarchs’ — with energy rich dictators, all working together to undermine democratic nations in a power grab for earth’s resources. Plan for a robust discussion on that and Project 2025 this Sunday, and how we counter that power grab with truth, empathy, and better narrative offense.

His OSInt research featured in the documentary People You May Know revealed Cambridge Analytica and Gloo exploited mental health data for microtargeting. He is also the key researcher on the film, Bad Faith. He has exposed clandestine Council for National Policy campaigns and uncovered StoptheSteal at its inception. Allpress shared his findings with the J6 Committee and is leading a charge to have the CNP forensically investigated for its role in the attempted coup and in what he describes as a Judicial coup.
