A Minister of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment of Russian State TV is dismayed that far-right leader Marine Le Pen was found guilty of embezzlement and barred from running for office. She tweeted out the following to her 600K followers:
More fascinating is a report I read from an ABC affiliate in America that was nothing more than a press release from a US Minister of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment, who goes by the title of White House Press Secretary.
I have said often that when democracy falls, the media will have been the biggest villain. And when brutal empires fall, it is the independent investigative reporters who helped light the way.
So I am directing your attention to an important interview with independent investigative reporter, Christo Grosev, who has been exposing Russian spies infiltrating the West. Grosev is a Bulgarian journalist whose open-source investigative work exposed spies linked to the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skirpal in 2018 and Alexei Navalny in 2020.
Due to his work, he can no longer live with his family and is uncertain about the circumstances that led up to the death of his father — who died shortly after posting one of his son’s reports on Facebook. He is on Putin’s wanted list. As I reported earlier this week with Bette guest Dietmar Pichler, he found himself at the center of a plot, after a Bulgarian-spy ring was sent by the Kremlin to target and kidnap him. The assailants were arrested and convicted in the UK.
