“Kremlin does not need us to believe them, they need us to not believe each other.”—Adam Sybera
REGISTER FOR HAPPY HOUR: Today, June 11, noon PT, we will be joined by Adam Sybera, an analyst/journalist, who is bringing us news from Kharkiv, as well as other cities under siege. Our RadPod interview with him is also dropping today.
In addition, I mentioned in our previous invites a Ukrainian drone crew that goes by the name Peaky Blinders, after the brilliant British period crime drama set after WWI. Join the Bette Dangerous family in helping raise $500 to repair damaged drones.
According to Sybera:
A special unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Omega" known as “Peaky blinders” focuses on drone warfare.
They participated in the Battle of Bakhmut, where they gained battle experience and incredible improvisation skills utilizing all kind of drones they can their hands on.
Now they are deployed in Lyptsi above Kharkiv, repelling the new russian offensive. Their kamikaze drones are a nightmare to the occupants, capable of destroying armored vehicles cheaply.
They also utilize basic Mavics for scouting as well as adjusting various drones to drop grenades on infantry. Also, since the Russians are big in numbers, they need drones with thermal vision so they can operate at night, where the number advantage diminishes. Essentially, the mavics (both thermal and regular) are “eyes in the sky” locating the enemy and navigating kamikaze drones - which can be very basic quadricopters with an easily made explosive attached to them.
Here is some video of their damaged drones:

The Bette community has come together to pay for a new phone and tablet for a Ukrainian volunteer in Kherson after his home burned, as well as helped finance a documentary film about the destruction of Kherson. In addition, this community has committed to helping such states as Ohio and Tennessee in their efforts to thwart hard-right extremism, and I so proud of our accomplishments.

In the TedX Talk below, you’ll find Sybera use the words — ‘mental invasion’ — and that really stood out to me. There is he is in Ukraine documenting war crime after war crime by the Russian invaders, and yet, he says “some of the most insidious attacks” are on our perception of reality by Putin’s regime.
“Some of the most insidious attacks come from the deliberate disinformation campaigns of the Kremlin into which Russia invests over $1.9 billion dollars annually.”—Adam Sybera
He also said something brilliant in our RadPod interview, which I will now be using as a mantra. Just as reporter Paul Niland gave us the gift of seeing that what is afflicting the US is a complete assault on reality, what Sybera said is this — in the ‘90s, we made a mistake by doing business with Russia.
We need to admit our mistake.
We crawled into bed with what under Putin became a fascist dictatorship mafia state, and until we admit that mistake, and disentangle ourselves and our finances, tech, government, academia, etc., completely from that mafia state, we will continue to be sucked into their fascist undertow.
“The Kremlin operates with the premise that there is no objective truth, and no one can be trusted, and will is implemented by violence. Not giving into this premise has proved to be a crucial factor in the successful repelling of the initial attack on Kyiv, which was based on the presumption of Western division and expectation that Ukraine will give up.”—Adam Sybera
“In humanity, violence and death are old tools of Russian tactics in their aspiration to control and subdue people.”—Adam Sybera
Each day, I get calls and emails from allies showing evidence of more Russian interference and tentacles into our country’s reality and functions.
I don’t need more evidence of what I already know to be true — what I need is action from our leaders to stop the bleeding of minds traumatized by this mental invasion. I need to see the ongoing national security risks by those funded by the Russians to be taken seriously. I need to see the pro-Kremlin faction in our government tossed out on their asses and forever shunned. I need to see the tech bros diminished in power — the platforms funded and infiltrated by the Russians shuttered or turned into public utilities that serve our communication needs without poisoning our minds.
RadPod’s interview with Ken Silverstein should have everyone prepared to do everything we can to defeat the MAGA Cult permanently.
Sybera, together with local volunteers and NGOs, has collected thousands of pieces of evidence proving Russian state terrorism, from deliberate rocket attacks on civilian populations to systemic sexual violence and torture of prisoners of war.
I am incredibly grateful that Sybera will meet with our group and bring us his findings and how we can help.
The more we each have in our arsenal as we speak about these issues in our own networks, the more likely we are to have a resounding victory against Putin in November.
Then, with victory in hand, we can admit our mistake and get our own house in order.
“Building civil resilience is the best way to counter foreign interference and hateful propaganda.”—Adam Sybera
