Thank you to all new and renewing members. Our recent community events with guests from Ukraine, Finland, Austria, and New York have filled the post-election blues with stories of heart, resistance, solidarity, and unity. Our event with filmmaker Jen Senko was so important — stay connected to loved ones who we may have lost in the information war. Our event with Maksym Eristavi of Russian Coloniolism 101 was stunning, as was our meeting with Joni from Finland and our brief updates from Dietmar in Vienna and Sid in Georgia.
Our events will continue to encourage activism and togetherness in the face of looming threats. The increase in demoralization trolls is a reminder that our agency is a threat to those trying to consolidate power.

Bette’s Happy Hour — Parenting with Pride
Hours after the calamity of November 5, I began hearing from parents of gay youth that there had been an emboldening of bullying. As adults, we know that bullies are often conflicted about their own sexual identities, but how to explain that to the children we wish to protect…
So to the experts we go. I am thrilled that we will be joined by Jennifer Solomon, Parents and Family Support Manager with Equality Florida. As Solomon explains:
“Parenting with Pride is a comprehensive resource that empowers families and parents at every stage of their journey. Since our launch in August 2023, we’ve connected with over 2,000 families, ensuring that no one feels alone in their pursuit of supportive, inclusive parenting. Through our efforts, more families now have the tools and resources to confidently advocate for and uplift their LGBTQ+ children. This is just the beginning of a movement where Florida parents are reclaiming their rights and shaping a more inclusive future for all.”
I visited Florida in May and came back blown away at the great work Equality Florida is doing to fight for the rights of their community.
