Yesterday I was invited to appear on The Thom Hartmann Program to discuss my latest report — ‘Digital Guerilla’ — part of a series looking back at the 2016 election interference

While meeting Anne Nelson IRL to screen her new film, ‘Bad Faith,’ about the rise of Christian nationalism, I received a call from Thom Hartmann’s producer to discuss the following report:

So while Anne was in one room being interviewed by Ian Masters, I was holed up in another room chatting with Thom — my iPad propped up by a Birkenstock and some pillows lol.

It was a moment.

The 12-minute interview felt like two minutes, we breezed through the report quickly, and I had the opportunity to get in a few body blows to the white nationalist traitors who were superspreaders of Russian propaganda during the 2016 election and beyond. I also had the opportunity to remind his listeners that Hillary Clinton was once a very popular politician before the Russian war machine and the right-wing media combine sunk its fangs into her.

“Who was voted America’s favorite politician in 2013? Hillary Clinton… by 2016, American minds had been so hacked by these quote unquote influencers that suddenly they thought she was the devil. That did not happen organically. I believe it happened because of these influence operations,” I said.

We also briefly discussed Paul Manafort’s role in installing Russian assets in Ukraine and America, and reminded people of the Mueller Report, which should have been read by more than the three (or .03) percent of the population because it revealed Trump’s ‘free’ campaign manager turned over polling data to the Russians.

For new members, here is my American Monster series — about US criminals accelerating global fascism — which kicks off with Manafort, who used Trump as a loss leader to get “whole” with Oleg Deripaska, who knows a good mark when he sees one. Charles McGonigal, anyone?

I’ll have more info on the new film she is featured in — Bad Faith — about the rise of Christian nationalism — as soon as possible. We will need all of our networks to spread the word about the film. It is an incredible document of the long-term and well-funded plot to misappropriate the evangelical vote to destroy democracy.

I saw a screening of it today, and if there is one thing pro-democracy people need it is our own Council for National Policy but working to defend democracy, not demolish it.

Anne was asked a great question by an audience member and she quipped:

“I often say Republicans went to business school and formed economic, marketing, and media strategies. Democrats went to law school and journalism school, and they fight among themselves.”

If we want to defeat fascism in 2024, the bravest thing we can do is unite.
