"Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it's one we can prevent if we act now. By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children.”—Stephen Hawking, 2017
I never bought the horseshit that both parties are the same — one party would like you to live, the other party doesn’t care if you die. Joe Biden is literally trying to save the North Atlantic Right Whale, while Trump’s administration was hastening the death of all living things.
In a thread I titled Zero Days to Waste, I documented all the ways in which the Trump administration had rolled back environmental protections.
As you know, I am working hard on better messaging that you can share with your various networks.
In the Solidarity Now report, I quote Anne Nelson, Will Rogers, Jason Stanley, Jeff Sharlet, David Pepper, Nancy MacLean, Dmitrii Kovegin, High Fidelity, and Wes Clark Jr., each of whom offers important pro-democracy messaging, even when being ironic.
“Don’t panic. A lot of the totalitarian methods have to do with promoting incompetent people who are liars to get you to lose faith in your institutions. Just vote those fucking people out, it’s not impossible. Go up and cast your vote, say: ‘Enough bullshit. Here you go, straight ticket. Get the fuck out of the statehouse, too.’ That’s how you do it.”
—Wes Clark Jr. on Bette Dangerous Podcast, Ep83
Those of you who took the time to listen to my recent interview with Wes Clark Jr got to hear directly from a world-class raconteur.
Wes, who is the subject of the podcast American Psyop, is a writer, a veteran and environment activist. He has the ability to cut through the noise — or wade through the flooding zone of shit — to get to what matters.
“One of fascism's goals is to unleash the beast and turn us into animals: prey and predator. They do it by spreading fear and bloodlust. Lot of monsters out there growing fangs. Stay human.”—Wes Clark Jr.
Among my favorite Wes-isms is:
“The line between reality and imaginary bullshit has been erased.”
In this episode of RadPod, Wes offered up hard truth about the future of our planet.
He also offered his expertise for my desert crises report in Byline Supplement:
In that report, I quote Wes as saying:
“We put an enormous amount of carbon into the atmosphere, and we have dangerous lunatics in charge of countries,” environmental activist, Wes Clark Jr, said in a recent interview on my podcast, RADICALIZED Truth Survives. “They keep imagining that someone is gonna come save us, there will be a miracle technology that we suddenly make, or Jesus will come down, or aliens will come down. None of that is going to happen. What’s going to happen is physics is going to happen. And physics and math are predictable. We have massively f**ked up our environment and we need to find a way to fix this, but it’s going to take honesty, science, understanding chemistry and physics and not relying on someone coming to save us.”
Despite his blunt warnings, Wes remains optimistic:
“I am not as pessimistic as many people are about the election this Fall. People are like, ‘No one is coming to save us.’ No one’s ever coming to save you. It’s Democracy — everything gets reset every two and four years. It’s a question of are enough of you gonna come out and vote or not? There isn’t a magic person who’s going to come fix stuff for us. It’s a mater of having enough people turnout to make stuff happen.”
He thinks it’s gonna be a blowout in favor of Biden. I’m taking out insurance policies by bringing in the best talent I can find to help us with messaging and to focus us on how we can be most effective in the labor of democracy.
Come hear from Wesley directly on Sunday, April 21, 4 pm PT and get smart messaging to make good trouble. Registration below at bottom of post…
