‘RECLAIMING THE WORKING CLASS’ — RadPod’s New Interview with Jason Stanley
The author of How Fascism Works told RadPod on Ep86 that traitorous politicians are undermining our standing internationally — as they rob words of meaning — and how Dems reclaim our base with reality

“We have to broadcast the stakes of this election. A politically powerful message is the super harsh train that’s coming down the tracks toward women’s rights. The Democratic party needs to fight that. The basis for that should be women’s rights. Controlling women is gathering the GOP a big base. So the Democratic party has to be very clear that the Republican party is returning to patriarchy as a mainstay. Women have to get there.”—Jason Stanley, Ep86, RadPod

Among the first quotes that jumped out at me is this:
“The enemies of the United States couldn’t have wanted anything more than Mike Johnson and Donald Trump,” Professor Jason Stanley told RadPod today. “Ukraine is fighting against a clearly fascist empire that Mike Johnson is threatening to completely and needlessly kowtow to — to hand Russia the country of Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers are willing to fight and die en masse to fight Russia — they just need weapons. They are not asking for anyone to fight for the them.
“Mike Johnson single-handedly might be responsible for the murder of hundreds of thousands of people and for the complete destruction of Ukrainian culture and language, torture camps and mass rape. We know what Russia does when it invades a city — you want to see that happen to Kyiv — single-handedly responsible for that much bloodshed and destruction. And it’s a lot to weigh on his conscience, and I suspect he does not have one.”
As my recent reporting on Johnson has revealed, I suspect Stanley is correct.
What Johnson and his ilk are aiming for is “the complete destruction of the United States as an international power,” said Stanley.
One of the ways they get there is by “deflating the vocabulary of democracy,” he said.
Stanley’s latest academic work, the new book, The Politics of Language, delves into the “authoritarian cult-of-the-leader” manipulation of language, which Ruth Ben-Ghiat just referred to as the upside-down.
Also please be on the lookout for his upcoming book, Erasing History: How Fascists Rewrite the Past to Control the Future — now available for preorder.
One of the things we discuss with Stanley on RadPod is how to reclaim the working class. So let’s get on with it!
