Our explosive interview with Nadine Smith from Equality Florida reveals how DeSantis is cratering in Florida on the ‘kitten heels’ of the Moms 4 Liberty scandal

Smith explains that rape allegations against DeSantis’ close friend Christian Ziegler, Florida’s GOP Chair and former Sarasota county commissioner, by a woman who said she was in a three-way with Ziegler and his wife Bridget, are impacting DeSantis. Bridget Ziegler, who is a member of the Sarasota County school board and co-founder of Moms For Liberty, a designated hate group by the SPLC for its attacks on the LGBTQ community, book bans, and Hitler citations, is also close with DeSantis, who appointed her to the board he created to go after Disney.

“They are wrapped around the DeSantis ecosystem, and they have been a tool of that ecosystem, and now it’s blowing up in their face,” said Smith.

“What’s been unmasked is the completely fraudulent nature of Moms For Liberty,” Smith told RadPod. “It was a cynical strategy to turn moms into weapons to dismantle education and divert money into voucher programs that they run.”

Florida governor Ron DeSantis has been a big supporter of Moms For Liberty, which boasted on their website that he stands with them — oddly, the link to the web page is now broken.

As you’ll learn in this interview with Smith, Moms for Liberty is a cynical dark money operation with cultic members and the scandal is mobilizing people to seize the moment and fight back.

“We are turning the tide in Florida,” Smith told RadPod. “DeSantis is cratering in the polls. And it is not just a repudiation of his weird smile and his awkward gestures, his kitten heels… it’s a rejection and a repudiation of laws, the policies, and the rhetoric that he has been spewing all over the country. The more we tell the truth, the more they shrink from the light. The hatefulness and the ugliness resurfaces every 50 years and we have to come together and not let them divide us and pit us against each other and not turn people into scapegoats…. we have to have a vision of the future where everyone can see themselves in that future.

“This is the frontline of a national fight that DeSantis would like to make a global fight. People are standing up and pushing back, even companies that hid under the desk, because they watched what happened to Disney. The realize they can’t keep losing good people.”
