As you know, I never stop investigating 2016, and the events that led up to the installation of a Russian asset into the White House.
Yesterday, I recalled how — for the first time in my life — I had to wait in a long line in order to vote on November 8, 2016. That had never happened before. In prior years, I had volunteered to work the polls on Election Day, and we never had any lines — so it was weird from the very beginning. And we just took it. The questioning of events never rose above the noise that drowned out those of us who investigated Trump-Russia.
And as we look further over the waves, we see that Brazil convicted Jair Bolsonaro, sentencing him to 27 years in prison for conspiring against democracy; taking part in an armed criminal organization; organizing a coup; and damaging government property and protected cultural heritage assets. Ruth Ben-Ghiat offer this superb recap:
The crimes were related to the storming of Congress in Brazil on January 8, 2023, by Bolsonaro supporters after he lost the presidential election — just two years after Trump instigated an insurrection at the US Capitol.
As Ben-Ghiat notes in her report, “his conviction is a monumental victory for democratic visions of justice and an example of what accountability looks like.” She also notes that five military officials were also convicted — the “first time in Brazil’s history that military officials were punished for trying to overthrow a democratic government.”
Brazil is not alone in punishing its traitors. In 2019, a Ukrainian court found the former president Viktor Yanukovych guilty of treason for trying to crush the 2014 pro-Western demonstrations that led to the overthrow of his government. He was also charged with asking Putin to send Russian troops to invade Ukraine after he had fled to Russia.
Trump and Yanukovych had the same handler, Grey Cardinal Paul Manafort.
Also this year, South Korea’s president was impeached, arrested, and indicted for leading an insurrection, becoming the first sitting president to be arrested and indicted in South Korean history — stemming from a declaration on martial law in December of 2024.
As I often say, in the US, the media coup preceded the judicial coup so the lack of a shared narrative of truth clouded the reality of Trump’s treason, although multiple impeachments and 34 felony convictions remain on his permanent record.
Will Be Wild
I continue to maintain that among the targets of the terror of October 7, 2023 was Joe Biden, who was leading the strongest economy in the world.
The ensuing chaos resulted in Trump taking the 2024 election with 31 percent of all registered voters — hardly a majority.
So where is the majority that does not support this reckless, sadistic, and wildly unqualified regime? Getting sucked into the undertow.
Among the first things Putin did when he came to power was ban comedy. He killed a puppet show that parodied him.
As I reported three years ago:
“One of his first authoritarian acts was to have one of his cronies at the Kremlin go to a television station and tell them that the TV show Kukly, which was a puppet show, wasn’t allowed to use his puppet anymore. They had done this episode that was beautifully vicious in its takedown of Putin. The puppeteers and the writers of that show, they saw what he was, almost before anyone else.”
So media kisses the ring with multi-million-dollar settlements and the removal of late-night comedians — essentially, obeying in advance — and we only have to look further over the waves to see where this leads.
Of Treason and Martyrs
I ask you again to live within truth. If you need help with that, read any of my Václav Havel reports.
The pressure to succumb to the dark fairytales will increase, stoked by Goose-Step Greta — my nickname for Kristi Noem — and her daily edition of the Völkischer Beobachter — my nickname for DHS’ twitter feed, which sells ‘othering’ fear with the efficiency of the Nazi’s daily propaganda newspaper.
I’m being throttled on Twitter, which was inevitable, but I keep reminding readers it’s not immigrants we need protection from, it’s the billionaires.
As the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk is cranked up to 11, I received a note from an ally about my Horst Wessel report.
He wrote:
“Horst Wessel, Ashli Babbitt — also Sergei Kirov. Stalin used the 1934 Kirov assassination as a major pretext for his big beautiful purge. The Leningrad State Academic Theater and Ballet was even renamed (1935-1992) the Kirov Ballet.”
Kirov, a friend of Stalin’s and a member of the Politburo, was shot and killed on December 1, 1934, and his murderer and accomplices were convicted in a show trial. Kirov’s death was used by Stalin as a reason for starting the Moscow trials and the Great Purge, or Great Terror, where the NKVD led a political purge in the Soviet Union of critics and opponents. Hundreds of thousands of people were accused of espionage, sabotage, anti-Soviet agitation, and were executed by shootings or sent to gulags — with an emphasis on ethnic minorities.
Take a look at the Twitter feed of DHS selling fear of ethnic minorities.
I can’t help but think about post-Reichstag Fire Germany, where by the summer of 1933, all opposition had been crushed, as Hitler’s regime used the fire to lead a purge of its own.
And so, the Third Reich was built on the foundations of a conspiracy theory, which I will be writing more about in coming days.
As my friend quipped about the mythology making around Charlie Kirk:
“What will be renamed for our sainted Charlie? Charlie Kirk Center for Rhetorical Bomb Throwing? Our Martyred Charlie Kirk Memorial Interrogation and Detention Center? Charlie Kirk U? Charlie Kirk Deportation Airlines?”
It will be incumbent upon all of us in coming days to retain our sense of humor.
