Thank you to everyone who supports my work. I woke up this morning like it was Christmas Day — so many new members from all over the world. Bette is growing in the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand — we are in 50 states and nearly 50 countries. Humbled and grateful.
For our new members, please search the archives for ‘Bette’s Weekly Roundup’ — I compile the best of my reporting from these pages, Byline Supplement, RadPod, and Los Angeles Magazine. It’ll give you a wide breadth of information for our fight against the fascist creep, while also offering music and nightlife breathers.
We have to live our best lives during trouble times — ‘the days run away like wild horses over the hills’ (Me and Bukowski).
Before my Substack was attacked, I was writing frequent memoirs on my years as a nightlife columnist and music critic. They’re still there if you want to poke around before March. Periodically, I reboot my favorite posts from the archives and will do so soon.
In the meantime, I would like all subscribers to enjoy a week’s worth of free podcasts — which are audio versions of my print reports.
