I am pleased to report the spell of But His Debate appears to be wearing off, and backfiring spectacularly on those still flogging it. Looking forward to crushing the rapey fascist at the polls in November, while the decent old ‘gaffe’ guy continues the labor of democratic governance.
Democracy dies behind euphemisms as my friend Milo of the Media and Democracy Project reminds us, and it’s time to use our words: Trump is a adjudicated rapist, convicted felon, known insurrectionist and proven asset of the Russian Federation, a fascist mafia state currently trafficking children, torturing Ukrainians, and bombing cancer wards.
When the United States gets past its troubles, I’ll see the war criminals of the Putin regime at The Hague, where a dictator ending awaits.
No one has done more to educate Americans on the history of Trump’s connection to Russia than our guest on Sunday — Craig Unger.

Craig: “No! I think it’s just petrifying. If you look at Project 2025, it’s a recipe for the end of the Democracy — it’s as simple as that. I spent years not using the word fascist, and now I have to use it... This is the brink. One of my best friends is German, and he says it’s 1933 in Germany, this is where we are. In fact, the Supreme Court has — if Trump were elected — given him such a wide berth it’s very akin to the Enabling Act in 1933 that gave Hitler so many powers.”

In my interview about her book Red Orchestra: The Story of the Berlin Underground and the Circle of Friends in Berlin Who Resisted Hitler, she told me that one of the surviving members of the Berlin Resistance to Hitler said if they only had 100,000 more people join them in the Resistance they would have overthrown the Nazis. We have in this moment the 100,000 people we need and millions more, and we must prevent the worst. It’s our duty for future generations and the very survival of this planet.

“Is it okay for the president of the United States to have made a fortune laundering money for the Russian mafia? Shouldn't that be a scandal? Doesn't that compromise you? And it certainly does in terms of national security. And that's what counterintelligence is about, and the FBI failed miserably.”
