‘Propaganda Kills’
As Jen Senko, the filmmaker of the Brainwashing of My Dad — which documents her family’s journey to getting her father back from Fox News and the right-wing newsphere, told Byline Supplement:
“Propaganda is tremendously powerful. Propaganda creates terrorism. Propaganda kills. Propaganda helped cause the holocaust which resulted in over 11 million people deemed ‘the other’ being murdered.
“Propaganda through the radio drove the killing of over 800,000 Tutsis by their neighbours and family in 1994. The constant drumbeat over the last 40 years of hate propaganda has come to its intended conclusion; disruption in the order of things, chaos and unbridled hatred of ‘the other’ – whoever ‘the other’ is at the time. History can repeat itself and will unless we speak out. Speak out to outlets that push hate. Speak out.”
Trying to break through the capitalist fortress protecting billionaire owned media networks is a hero’s task.
