Bette’s Weekly Roundup — A ‘Monster’ Mash
All the good and scary stuff in one email
While working on an investigation today, I had film noirs streaming in the background. Ida Lupino, Joan Fontaine, Bette Davis — and somehow an old pre-code film popped up, early Bette. It had a cast playing churchy types and by the end, they all remembered their decency and their humanity. I thought of that ugly display in Congress where a reporter was made to feel impertinent by a radicalized pack of hyenas.
We’re shamed for remembering that the GOP tried to overthrow our country and in fact, is still trying.
Well, that’s why I write.
