Bette’s Weekend Update: Stories I Don’t Want You To Miss
For those who are busy committing to the labor of Democracy on the weekend, a compilation of must read reports

We got this, but it’s going to be a gnarly few days, weeks, months ahead.
As Dr. Matthew Taylor said in yesterday’s Speakeasy, if we vote to continue democratic governance, it will be the beginning of the end of our current nightmare. So stay the course, steel your spine, gird your loins — recall, there are no citizens in this war — and all the things we learned from our brilliant guests over the last few days.
Because I know so many of you are out their canvassing, post-carding, phone-banking, attending lectures, webinars, and doing the labor of Democracy, which is why Democrats will win this election, I thought I would do what I used to do when I had time and the days were longer: offer a round-up of important reads from the weekend.
Just when I thought nothing could be more important than my series bringing 1930s Weimar Republic to life, along came Trudeau informing us that Tucker Carlson and Jordan Peterson are paid by Russia.
Just when I thought nothing could top my work on the 2016 Election Attack Series, I found a one minute clip from the Foreign Minister of Lithuania who gave us the exact words we need for the terror we have been enduring for ten years.
And so it goes.
So for those who tune out to incoming emails over the weekend, here’s a Bette’s Weekend Update:

I don’t expect anyone to keep up.
I personally feel better when my fingers are dancing across the typer. That’s my idea of self care.
When I was in broadcast news, a manager used to document the volume of stories produced.
In the middle of the newsroom, she used to say, “Hey kiddo! You’re running circles around everyone.”
I always thought that was funny, because I could only see what I had not yet produced.
Some things never change.
