Bette’s Happy Hour is our community’s weekly wellness checkin, where we come together and share the things we do to stay mentally and physically well during trouble times. As many of you have noticed, our community is often filled with special guests, who pop in to share what they’re working on and to inspire our activism.

RadPod’s recent interview with UK author Sian Norris was so important, I invited her to drop in and inform our community about the findings in her new book, Bodies Under Siege, where she follows the US dark money flow into the countries attacking women’s health care and gay rights globally.

As she writes so beautifully in her book:

We don’t have to be afraid of freedom.

We have reached a crossroads between fascism and a new, progressive future with a new economic and societal model that will meet the challenges of climate crisis and the rise of artificial intelligence. This choice is urgent. Go one way, and women’s, LGBTIQ, and black and minority ethnic people’s lives will be blighted by oppression, forced to dodge hate and trying to resist genocide.

Choose the other way, and the future is ours.
