How I Spent My Summer Workation — Supporting Bette On the Road

Thank you to everyone who made my reader-funded life a reality.

I just completed the first of three work trips for Bette on the road and will have some incredibly inspiring reporting from Florida shortly.

Meeting allies in real life, and making dozens of contacts is already paying dividends.

I am seeking out the best minds in our fight against authoritarian capture in America and throughout the world, and am looking so forward to reporting my findings on these pages here and in Byline Supplement.

Each time I meet brilliant people on the frontlines of the Great Information War, I become a better educated warrior myself. My training in broadcast news and as a print columnist has given me the ability to extract the high concept from what I learn and relay that to you in my headlines, pull quotes, and summaries.

We are in a war of words and to win, we need a better arsenal.

Thanks to the Byline team and a generous benefactor, my travel basics are covered, but I’m doing this on a non-budget, and my goals are ambitious.
