REMINDER: Bette’s Happy Hour with Monique Camarra — ‘War Comes to the Campus’ + Practicing Better ‘News Hygiene’
Bette members — please register for Tuesday’s Happy Hour at noon PT, May 7, with geopolitical analyst Monique Camarra, as she updates us on unfolding events in Europe and help guide us on news intake

Thank you so much to all the new members and those upgrading their memberships! We’ve got six hard months ahead of us, and your support is everything to me.
Looking so forward to the return of Monique Camarra tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7, noon, PT.
The geopolitical analyst will be walking us through the findings of her latest investigation — War Comes to the Campus — where she reports from Italy on campus protests and some of the nefarious pro-Kremlin characters involved, and some of the ties she found to the 2022 trucker protests and historic operations from 1968.
Camarra’s EuroFile is a vital aggregator of important reporting on Russia’s war in Ukraine, and I am looking forward to an update from her on the countries now committed to arming Ukraine. In addition, I asked her to help our community with what I call “news hygiene” — how we can best consume news in a time of accelerating propaganda.
Camarra will help us “focus on the macro and not the micro, cut out the noise, learn to put things in their right perspective, weigh information, read things that are upsetting but with a detached eye of investigation and annotation (set emotions aside), understand that we are the first and last line of defence in democracy.”
For those new to Bette:
Based in Italy, geopolitical analyst Monique Camarra produces the EuroFile news roundup on the war in Ukraine and key stories from Europe, as well as cohosts Kremlin File with Olga Lautman.
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday, and excited to welcome new members to our community events!
