I owe a lot to Sian Norris, an investigative reporter and feminist author in the UK, who is pretty much responsible for bringing me out of semi-retirement to once again do investigative reporting full-time.
It was our weekly meetings for our Byline Times collaborations, where we paired up to warn the world about the overturning of Roe and to review in detail just how and why J6 occurred that inspired me to do whatever I needed to do ensure I could do this work independently and 24/7, no matter the cost.
And then Byline Supplement was launched and I launched Bette Dangerous, and you guys swooped in to support me. I am so indebted.
Currently, Sian is doing very important work on the outbreak of racist, far-right violence in cities across the UK for both her personal substack and for Open Democracy.
On Founder’s Day
Our Founder’s Day is a monthly event allowing me to thank those of you who support me at the highest level. Sian will be walking us through the violent outbreaks that just occurred in the UK and explaining what is underpinning that violence.
Here is another excellent report on that subject from Sian, and she is also the author of Bodies Under Siege, a vital book taking a global look at the repression of women’s health care rights.
