Lost loves are reconnecting.
Grandparents outraged farmed are awakening to how their actions impact beloved family members.
When I describe these developments in our weekly meeting at Byline, the newspaper’s co-founder Peter Jukes — a playwright by trade — says:
“Love, among the ruins.”
Yes, in this global war defending lands from Russian colonialism, love is being prioritized.
Look around in your own worlds and see what love might await you.
War has come to America.
The Unloved with the Holes In Their Heart do not want us to reconnect or find each other.
They want us backed into a fearful corner, desperate, lonely, without the will or resources to fight them.
They want us to be impressed by their wealth and their unreality.
They want us to obey in advance.
But if we love and we love and we love and we love, we may be able to topple them yet.
Today, as I was writing my latest Hot Type column for Byline, I discovered an oligarch who tried to topple Moldova for his Russian masters. His name is Ilan Shor. Ilan Shor is now hiding out in Russia, where oligarchs go to live out the rest of their desperate and miserable lives.
Ilan Shor. Elon Musk. And you will know them by the lack of love.
Love, I tell you, love.
Love like your life and the future of your country depends on it.
