Malignant narcissists find it very painful to be disparaged - an inflated sense of self is key to their emotional stability. According to Dr. David Reiss, who co-authored the Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, malignant narcissists have a false sense of self, which is very grandiose but also extremely fragile and needs constant replenishment. There is a sadistic side to their character that needs to dominate and humiliate others, and they trust no one, which is why fealty by those in their orbit is so common.
Malignant narcissists are a national security threat.
While one might naturally indulge in a bit of Schadenfreude when Elon Musk is booed on stage, or when Vladimir Putin gets his ass handed to him by Ukraine, or when Mike Flynn is outed reciting a satanic cult prayer in a Christian church or when Trump trudges up airplane stairs with toilet paper on his shoe - these are dangerous men.
For six years, corporate media has been downplaying the danger of Kremlin active measures and the domestic traitors who are furthering authoritarian capture and theocratic fascism in America.
That Twitter is now a fully engaged information warfare outlet disguised as a social media platform, as I reported in my latest for Byline Media, should be clear to all.
Although I made the move to Substack and Mastadon (@heidicuda@toad.social), I am remaining on Twitter to fight the fascists.
I have been the target of online harms for six years and am practiced at dialing down my attack surface. I wanted to share some of my survival guide techniques fwiw:
PMA - positive mental attitude. Active measures is designed to keep us sad, zombified, afraid, and isolated. I do this work as much as possible with PMA.
Gratitude - I start each day thinking about what I’m grateful for before entering the info-stream. It’s like armor.
Block - I have the fastest block finger in the West. I block all psychos, anonymous harmers, coordinated hit squads, paid operatives, ‘concerned trolls’, aka sea lioners, 🪆💨, and anyone unkind. Someone can have a different point of view, but if I detect even a whiff of cruelty, I’m out. Real people engage in a way that’s not psychologically harmful. I have most extremists blocked on Twitter, and I don’t worry about missing anything. Anything newsie tweeted by psycho traitors shows up on my timeline anyway.
Comments Off - the key to my mental wellness is turning off comments from those who I don’t follow. The trauma merchants are forced to quote tweet me or screenshot and harass behind my back, a violation of TOS (albeit rarely if ever enforced). I was worried that I would miss out on making new alliances, because some of my best friends irl came from a random twitter comment. But the authentic quote tweet works just fine.
Self Care - I do this work with music on and surrounded by the sound of wild birds. I take birding and hiking breaks and always have a film or book nearby for soul enrichment. I cook and bake and do the things that bring me joy. We are under assault by malignant joykillers psychologically terrorizing us to hide their corruption - they are small, sad, and unloved. Be joyful anyway.
Keep it Real - we live in a post-privacy world. Embrace who you are in all your complexities. Own your mistakes and recall that anyone trying to discredit you do so because you do good work. Truth is their kryptonite.
Elon Musk is using his platform as the ‘largest on-ramp for brainwashing in history’, as my podcast partner Jim noted. Like so many of my pro-democracy truth activist colleagues, we are among the counterweights.
We have work to do.
Totally with you on the music and reading to offset the noise. Ready to take to the streets when the time comes. Not going down without a fight. All in for Democracy 💚
