If We Called It Terrorism
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis annihilates the weak words we’ve been using to refer to Russia’s terrorism on the West, and he demands we take action now to stop them

We are in a war — it has always been a war, because it has always been terrorism.
Lives have been lost — hundreds of thousands in the United States alone — and we have done nothing, because we’ve used weak words. We have let billionaires who act as arms of Russian intelligence tell us that if we were to do something, we would be censoring free speech. That is a lie.
If we had used the proper words from the very beginning, a decade ago, when Russia paid agents and influencers to begin committing targeted menticide in America, we would not be on the precipice of potentially re-installing a criminal agent in the White House. We would be of clear mind about such things.
When our State Department tells us that Russian “covert influence activities are not journalism,” we should understand that such acts of war are not covered under our First Amendment. That framing has always been misleading.
It should have been far easier to understand that fascist mafia states who deny their own citizens freedom had used our freedoms against us, and that is, and always was, an act of war. And those aiding and abetting the fascist mafia state of Russia are enemy combatants.
Thankfully, the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, has in one minute and 24 seconds managed to annihilate the weak words we’ve been using and refers to Russia’s targeting of the West for what it is — terrorism.

Here is his full comment:
Why do we call it hybrid? Because if you call it hybrid, then basically you don't need to do anything about it. You can just talk about it in the conference, and it solves the problem.
If you call it terrorism, then it implies reaction — that then there's actually something needs to happen. In several countries, there have been incidents that we know that have been organized, financed by Russians, in order to burn down the buildings, harm people, destroy property. So how else can you call it? And this is where the danger — the biggest danger — comes from, that if we stay in this situation long enough, that sends a very clear message to Russia that basically, they are able to do whatever they want. They can walk around, they can harm people, they can burn down buildings. And we still will be talking about the hybrid, and this is the biggest, biggest problem.
And I usually say — I'm not afraid of Russia — I'm afraid of our fear of Russia. This is what really keeps me up at night. And if we don't find a way how to stop Russians, how to send a message to them that this is a red line — you cannot cross it — they will continue.
—Gabrielius Landsbergis, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs
It is clear to anyone who is not brainwashed that Trump works for Putin — the head of this hydra in a new axis of evil. It was clear to anyone not brainwashed that he served Putin’s interests while in the White House.
This was never “meddling.” This was war. America has the strongest military in the world, and yet, the border that needed protecting — the internet — was left wide open, giving hostile foreign powers the ability to invade the minds of our citizens.
People seeking a better life for their families are not the problem. The real border invasion began in earnest a decade ago, and we were left unprotected. And that real invasion changed the outcome of the 2016 US election — the greatest crime in American history has been ignored, because as Craig Unger reminds us, we don’t like to look at the dark parts of our past.
Well take a fucking look:
I am deep in historic research about the last winter of the Weimar Republic.
The Nazis whipped up fear about the communists. ‘Better a fascist than a communist’, is how they sold it.
That’s how MAGA is selling it again.
MAGA doesn’t need facts — they don’t need truth to be goaded into a rage. The narrow-minded are easily seduced.—me on X
That actual quote comes from a direct line in The Gravediggers book I’m mining. I only changed Nazi to MAGA.
My podcast partner High Fidelity wants you to remember the casualties of this war.
“Don’t forget the five children murdered because of QAnon, or the 400,000 dead from COVID-19 disinformation, or the hundreds — if not 1000s — of lives ruined by January 6,” High Fidelity told Bette Dangerous. “How about the untold millions of families, brothers, sisters, cousins, destroyed by Russian psychological warfare.
“They sneak in under our radar, under the guise of promising to make our lives better through technology. The media gives their technological, never before seen weaponry, a shiny veneer to make it palatable, and we bought it — hook, line and sinker. This is not free speech, because people are getting paid to engage in it. This is funded cognitive warfare. This is terrorism.”
So join me and Gabrielius Landsbergis in no longer calling this “hybrid war” or “meddling.” Join me in deleting weak words from our vocabulary, and no longer mistaking war — a war that has already changed the outcome of a US presidential election — as free speech.

“If you call it hybrid, then basically you don't need to do anything about it. You can just talk about it in the conference, and it solves the problem.”
But if you use the proper framing, “if you call it terrorism,” then you have to do something about it.
I, too, do not fear the bully state of Russia and the creeps that are on their payroll. But we need action, and we need it now.
The first thing we do is vote in our first woman President — a prosecutor.
Then we debut our new vocabulary and take the necessary action to protect the United States of America from terrorism.
