I’ve been feeling the feels this week, as I report on the vulnerabilities exploited by Russian intelligence and US traitors in the 2016 election.

Misogyny and racism — twin gateways to authoritarianism. The readiness to think the worst of women and people of color is our failing. Add the misappropriation of God in there, and you can see our dilemma.

To unite and stop waging war on each other is the bravest thing we can do. It also seals off our attack surface.

Have heroes, unfailingly. Don’t let psychos in lie factories deny your love for one another.

Stop being so ready to burn the witch. She might actually be a powerful force targeted by foreign influence operations, which exploit people’s mother issues.

Instead of enabling US authoritarianism, try therapy.

Seven years ago today, I was on a plane to Washington D.C. to march with hundreds of thousands of people who love women. The watery stuff is getting in my eyes as I reflect back on that journey.

Women have to work so much harder for half of anything.

Which is why I am celebrating. Despite a hefty block list, I have managed to hit 2,500 subscribers today, and surpass 550 paid or gifted memberships.

I did that in a year, betting on myself, bleeding words on pages.
