CREEPS ON FILM: Thiel, Musk, Prince

I study the photograph — an heirloom from the past. A patriarch in a fur hat, the town’s mayor, stands in the middle of his family. A young man gets the honor of holding the pig’s head, while an even younger boy is given the privilege of holding up the tail for the camera. In the front row is a little girl, my mom.
I listen to her tell story after story about her life, bringing the past right into this moment. I think a lot about history, surround myself with historians and their books. During rare spare hours, I am reading or watching documentaries, like the one I just watched on Lenin and how his Cheka became a weapon of repression and how much the blueprint reminds me of Project 2025. When fascists call us Communists, they’re really talking about the evil repression desires in their own hearts.
It’s clear to me that Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Erik Prince have been called up to serve their fascist alliances. Why else would they openly become central figures in this moment? As Jim Stewartson documents the pro-fash statements of these ‘creeps on film’ — in podcast, TV, and livestream appearances — I always think how much easier this would all be for MAGA to comprehend if they just wore Russian uniforms.
Each of these men reek of MICE — Money, Ideology, Compromise, Ego.
As noted in my Tech Pollution roundup, when funding comes from Putin bagmen, it becomes less curious that Thiel, Musk, and Prince are going on camera and in front of microphones each chance they get to simp for authoritarians.
But like Icarus, they appear to be flying too close to the sun.
