Arrest Donald Trump, Save the World
We are going to read the indictment together <3
I am an avid docunerd - I have been reading indictments and reports since before it was cool. Losing myself in legalese at 2 am is my idea of a good time.
I am acutely aware that this is a strange and rare condition as a reported three percent of the population read the Mueller Report, which is why on Easter weekend of 2019 I began writing my first thread - a 90-tweet, bite-size parsing of the Special Counsel’s work. It was deep and intense, and revealed those in Trump’s orbit to be carrying Putin’s water. Paul Manafort used Trump as a loss leader to get ‘whole’ with Oleg Deripaska, who he was in debt to. For those new to this work, Paul Manafort was Yanukovych’s handler. He ran the ‘torturer’s lobby’ with Roger Stone, which reads like a who’s who of supervillains forced to flee their countries when the revolutions ignited. Yanukovych was convicted of treason.
As I have written for seven years, things never end well for Manafort’s clients, and they won’t end well for Trump.
This was never a love story.
Barr the Fixer buried the Mueller Report, but I didn’t. It revealed a multi-layered military attack on our country, and the spies, traitors, and cons who populated Trump’s White House.
‘Espionage’
So join me as we do the labor of democracy together by reading some of the lowlights of the latest Trump indictment. No amount of Dr. Seussian rhymes and repetition will propaganda away the seriousness of Trump’s espionage.

National Security Risk
We learn immediately that the documents he possessed put our national security at risk. His entire presidency was a national security risk, and here we find out “… his boxes included information regarding defense and weapons capabilities of both the US and foreign countries; US NUCLEAR PROGRAMS, potential vulnerabilities of the US and its allies to military attack… unauthorized disclosure… could put at risk our national security… safety of the US military, and human sources…”
JFC. He endangered our country, our allies, and our human sources. Recall what I wrote yesterday about the rash of deaths and missing intelligence agents. He made the Western world far less safe. And he is still out hosting violent indoctrination events.
We quickly learn he was not authorized to have these documents and that Mar-a-Lago was wildly unsafe. Recall, the spy caught there?
Ballrooms, bathrooms, shower, office space, bedroom, storage room - locations for our most precious and private intel.
I’d say that this is not a serious man, except he is deadly serious - about overthrowing our democracy, violently, by any means necessary. He “showed and described a plan of attack” to guests and staffers without security clearance.
Defendant, Waltine Nauta, a staffer who according to court docs, was asked to move boxes “to conceal them from Trump’s attorney, the FBI, and the grand jury.” Trump also suggested “his attorney hide or destroy documents.”
We learn that Mar-a-Lago hosted more than 150 social events, drawing thousands of guests, during this time.
Have you seen those events? Fucking vatnik soups.
“Don’t mind while I use the bathroom,” said Boris, as he brought his cell phone into the john to photograph nuclear secrets in between doing bumps to ‘YMCA’.
The above is my speculation.
Back to the court docs, Trump moves our national secrets to another unauthorized location. The Bedminster Club, where he starts sharing military secrets on the record with people like Kid Rock — this according to Kid Rock’s interview on Fox.
Next, we learn he is aware that he is sharing “highly confidential” material to unauthorized people in unauthorized areas, and aware that he has not declassified the documents, and that he no longer can declassify the documents. This is all recorded.

What is most striking to me is the level of Intent and Willfulness that the Special Prosecutor has been able to capture and articulate in the Indictment.
I don’t see how Trump beats this - in fact I don’t even see a potential defense.
Accountability for wrongdoing may actually become fashionable again and the law may actually be applied to the most powerful among us restoring faith in our flawed but still standing system of justice.
Marty also posited that it should be interesting to see how the Cult abides. We already know the answer to that — they were willing to sacrifice family members to this man during covid, and they still fanboyed him after he lead a violent insurrection.
Anything to own the libs.
And of course, the MAGA Gang is already out spouting Kremlin 101 combat propaganda whataboutism - just cast shade on Hillary Clinton and the Cult devours the red meat. They’re addicted to Hillary hate because their brains have been manipulated for eight years — something I report on more tomorrow in Byline Supplement.
Judging by cable news stations inviting Kremlin propagandists on their Sunday shows, messaging is going about as shitty as to be expected.

Okay, next batch: You want to know why Trump’s lawyers quit?
He’s not only a danger to national security, our global allies, and our human sources, he is a danger to his own lawyers, using non verbal messaging to lie for him, removing “anything really bad” for him. Trump lied, but we know this about him. It is difficult to read these pages and know that his Cult is immune to such facts.
Nevertheless, it is good for our mind, body, and soul to stay rooted in facts and truth so as we continue our review, we now see the staggering number of documents that were top secret, mandated to never be seen by foreign nationals, and the willful defiance Trump showed in refusing to cooperate — to lie and obstruct and ask others to lie and obstruct — a defective Richie Rich who actually was installed into the presidency broke despite being born with every silver spoon he could possibly place in his mouth or nose.
I was raised by immigrants who came to America with nothing, and worked hard, and lived the American dream. He was raised by a tax cheat racist who Woody Guthrie wrote a protest song about.
Donald Trump is the worst of us.
He should never have been anywhere near the White House. I am ashamed as I write this that we didn’t fight harder on behalf of Hillary in 2016. We obeyed in advance.

Donald Trump is a cheap trick, network sold and operated.
Ultimately, the Justice Department prosecutors brought 37 felony counts against him - photos, surveillance videos, digital transmissions, Trump’s words on tape, his own lawyers’ reveals.
31 counts of willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act, and six additional counts of conspiracy to obstruct justice, corruptly concealing a document or record, concealing a document in a federal investigation and making false statements.
Those are the legal words.
I like my words better — spy traitor con, a cheap trick, a vatnik, a grave danger to humanity. The worst of us.
Stephen Hawking once said of Trump:
"We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible. Trump's action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of two hundred and fifty degrees, and raining sulphuric acid," he told BBC News.
"Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it's one we can prevent if we act now. By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children."
I got into this fight because I knew Trump was a con, and because I knew we can’t create jobs on a dead planet. I had produced an environmental and technology show for Al Jazeera America and knew the dangers we faced.
This indictment, in black and white, is everything we need to know about the danger we are in.
If he is convicted and the MAGA gang weakened, and additional criminals involved in the J6 coverup are also prosecuted, and Republicans lose power, we defeat Putin and his plans for a totalitarian mafia empire - as Zarina Zabrisky warns.
If Trump is ever near the White House again, Putin wins.
