How a former Florida Republican chose love over hate when she infiltrated Moms for Liberty

“They were leading by hate,” said a Florida mother of her former Republican party. “I chose love.”

RadPod’s interview with ‘Undercover Mother’ - our nickname for a mom from Central Florida who infiltrated a Moms for Liberty chapter in her area when she saw the hate being directed at the gay community.

“I had to find out how bad it was going to be,” said the mom, who has gay family members. “I needed to know what they were going to hit us with, so I created a Facebook account and quickly grew it to 2,000 friends - among them, members of Moms for Liberty. I just started asking questions.”

Members of the controversial group began posting what Undercover Mother said was “racist, homophobic, transphobic, and xenophobic” hate speech. That some of the members were public officials shocked her, and she turned the information over to community activists, resulting in unwanted exposure for their hate.

RadPod reached out to Moms for Liberty, who declined to comment on the story.

Here is our interview with her. As I wrote yesterday, she is my hero. She is proof that each of us can make a difference.

When I asked her what her final words were for our viewers, she said:

“Be careful who you hate, because it might actually be someone you love.”
